- Membership is free. Participation in garden activities do not require membership.
Status of the garden (relicensing, design, common areas, assigned areas)
- Vamos A Sembrar resulted from a merger of two gardens.
- License agreement is in process and the vision plan was created from legacy members.
- Currently 5 members on steering committee, can be up to 8.
- Garden was leveled and is now wheelchair accessible
- Layout:
- Members have access to the two boxes in the front, by fence, to plant vegetables.
- The boxes on the right of the garden will be used for educational purposes.
- Common areas will house low light, low water plants. Donations needed. Keep an eye out for plant giveaways.
- Future plans:
- More walkways to be added
- Casita House (need to apply for a grant for funding)
- Shed (need to apply for a grant for funding)

Open hours season (GreenThumb Gardener's Handbook p.6 last ¶)
- Open hours season lasts from April 1st – Oct 31st
- Garden must be open for 20 hours per week during open season. The timing of at least 10 of the 20 hours must be posted on the gate. At least 5 of the 20 posted hours must fall on the weekend.
- Some gardens close from November 1st – March 31st. Garden members are still responsible for clearing sidewalks.
- Still need to determine protocol for ad-hoc working hours. At this time, you need to coordinate with a member to gain access to the garden.

- There are two contacts for Green Thumb, Hanna (primary) and Vito (secondary). These two contacts are responsible for disseminating information shared by Green Thumb.
Standard/Best Practices
Fall/winter events in the garden?
- Need advance notice for events requiring preparation and permits.
- There is no budget for events. Members/planners must find funding.

Fall/winter activities (regular litter picking, sweep fall leaves from sidewalk into garden, clearing snow and ice, etc.)
- There is a list of work needs that will be sent out before the next meeting.

Joe from Spectrum School would like to serve as a liaison between the garden and the schools on B and 12th street.
The Children’s Garden is receiving a pile of wood chips on Friday, November 1st, 2019 between 9am – 12:30pm. Need help moving woodchips to VAS on Friday afternoon or Saturday.
Garden has rat issue. If possible, fill rat holes with gravel or broken brick. If no material available, destroy the hole.
